Cookie Policy
What cookies Svelamo sets on this site, which ones are essential and how to turn the rest off in your browser. No advertising trackers here.
What a cookie actually is
A cookie is a small text file a website leaves in your browser so it can recognise you the next time you load a page. Svelamo uses a handful of them. None of ours follow you across other sites.
The banner on the homepage asks once. Accept or decline, the answer is stored so you are not asked again on every visit.
Cookies we cannot turn off
These keep the site working and remember things like your cookie choice and any dates you typed into the booking form.
- svelamo_harbour_consent, remembers whether you accepted or declined, kept for 12 months
- Session cookies from the booking system, cleared when you close the browser
- A load balancing cookie from our host, which only records which server answered your request
Analytics
We run one analytics tool to count visits and see which pages people read. It records the pages you view, roughly where you came from, and the device you used. It does not record your name and we do not merge it with booking data.
You can decline these in the banner. Nothing about your stay changes if you do, and the site still works the same way.
Things we embed
The contact page carries a Google map and the site loads typefaces from a public font service. Both set their own cookies once they load. We do not control those files, and their own policies apply the moment the content appears on your screen.
We do not run advertising pixels, we do not retarget you, and we do not sell data to anyone.
Turning cookies off
Every browser has a settings screen for clearing and blocking cookies. Blocking all of them will break the booking form, so we suggest declining in our banner and leaving the rest alone.
To change your mind later, clear the site data for svelamo.com and the banner will ask again. Questions go to svelamo@hotmail.com or +61 3 6214 9078.
The other policies we keep
Three documents, all short, all written in the same plain language as this one.
